Richard Bargas and Dr. William Varner delve into the significance of the Apostolic Fathers, exploring their historical context, doctrinal contributions, and relevance for contemporary Christianity. As a biblical conservative, dispensationalist, and a scholar—not to mention a member of IFCA International, Dr. Varner encourages Christians to read the Apostolic Fathers for themselves, a subject that many men from our tradition of Bible Churches would be distrusting and unfamiliar with. Dr. Varner introduces the Apostolic Fathers and shares why they are valuable for the church to study today. Dr. William Varner teaches Bible exposition courses and Greek Exegesis at The Master’s University. He also served as the Director of IBEX, the university’s overseas campus in Israel, for over twenty years and has led over 50 study trips to Israel. Additionally, he was the pastor of the Sojourners fellowship at Grace Community Church for twenty-three years. Currently, he teaches the Bereans Class at Grace Baptist Church, Santa Clarita, CA. Dr. Varner is the author of around twenty books, catering to both laymen and scholars. His most notable scholarly works include a new translation and introduction to the Apostolic Fathers, published by T&T Clark.
